This free walking tour was really great. Pablo is a really friendly and authentic tour guide who explained interesting facts about the city and Costa Rica.
Time flies when you are walking with him through the city. Would recommend it for everyone who would like to know more about San José, Costa Rica and its culture!
The tour lasted more than 2.5 hours, so it was a little bit longer than expected.

Our guide Jose was wonderful. He obviously knows his history of the city and of Puerto Rico and beyond. He gave as many facts that I'm sure we will not remember, but we're very interesting to us. I would definitely recommend the walking tour to get a flavor for the city.

“An afternoon walk in San Jose ”
We enjoyed Iso's tour, she is passionate and proud of Costa Rica. She loves her job and it came across in her tour. It was great to hear the passion coming across.
We would have loved to learn a bit more about the city as it is today as well. Maybe some visual ie; a map or pictures of the old city as it was 50 years ago.
We enjoyed the tour and we would do it again.

Pablo was our Guide and he was great! A great sense of humor and could answer all of the additional questions that we had (and took much time to answer them). He was very eager to explain a lot about costa rican history, politics and culture and teach us a little bit of (costa rican) spanish. Also he showed us where to get authentic souvenirs. We had a blast!

Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. For my taste the tour was very heavy on history and facts. we would walk a short distance and then the guide talked for 15 to 20 minutes. Didn't feel like we saw much or got a feel for the current culture. that being said, he did share some interesting stories.

Pablo Jose, our excellent guide, was fascinating. He showed us places we had passed by on our own an hour earlier and hadn't noticed their uniqueness. He told fascinating stories and was very attentive to our needs. I've been on many city tours and he was truly one of the best.

“Such a good way to get to know San José ”
I can really recommend this tour! Our guide Braulio gave a lot of history content to us, which really helps to understand the given circumstances nowadays in Costa Rica.
You do not see that many impressive buildings as I think San José just has not that much but you will learn about the city's and country's history.
At the end of the tour Braulio took us to a nice restaurant/bar, where we, the travellers, spent some time together and bonded over some beers.
I enjoyed this tour a lot!

I’d heard some negative things about city tours in San Jose and so in the end I booked a walking tour with Freetour.com. It was an efficient booking process and less than an hour later I joined the tour. Our guide was Iso and she was brilliant; sooo knowledgeable but also passionate and full of energy. This made the 3 hour walking tour fly by and I really felt I’d gained a fantastic introduction to both Costs Rica and San Jose. I would definitely recommend this tour.

“Great intro to Costa Rican history”
Preparing a trip to Costa Rica, it was quite difficult to find a good video or reading material explaining it's history or culture. So we spent two weeks in Costa Rica knowing very little about its land or the people. This tour gave a really great overview of the history and what made Costa Rica into the country it is. I wish I had this tour at the beginning of the trip but it was also a great wrap up for our Costa Rican experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable, funny at times, covering everything from history, culture, social systems, politics, belief, everything that makes Costa Rica into the country it is today. He would give recommendations on restaurants to try, places to visit. San Jose was a scary big city unlike other places in Costa Rica but I started to develop a love for it after spending the morning with our guide. Highly recommended.

“Very Informative and interesting ”
Iso was great. I sometimes regret doing city tours as they can be dull or full of content I don't care about. This was neither. Iso filled it with fascinating history and current politics that gave us a real feel for the city, the country and its culture. It was everything I wanted from a tour but was too afraid to ask. After two weeks in Costa Rica this helped give lots of context and made me feel only more respect for its history and people. Pura Vida!
My only regret was not having more cash for tips.

The tour was a fantastic conclusion to our Costa Rica trip! ???? Our guide Pablo was very competent. With love and enthusiasm for his country and the city, he led us through the streets in a very friendly way.
