Authentic Palmeira Tour: Immersion in a Fishing Village

Ce que j’ai préféré dans cette visite, ce sont les rencontres. Véronique est très à l’aise avec les habitants de Palmeira et cela rend l’expérience complètement différente d’une visite touristique classique. Véronique parle aussi bien l’anglais que le français. Nous avons pu échanger, poser nos questions et mieux comprendre la culture et la vie quotidienne au Cap-Vert.. On se sent accueilli plutôt que simplement de passage. Un très beau moment humain et authentique.

I never thought that a simple visit to a small village would leave such a lasting impression on me. During my stay on Sal, I wanted to discover something beyond the beaches and resorts. Visiting Palmeira turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. I really enjoyed taking the time to walk through the village, watching the fishermen return with their catch, talking to the locals, and discovering their daily lives. Nothing felt staged, and that’s exactly what I loved about it. It truly felt like experiencing the real Cape Verde. Lunch was another wonderful part of the experience. I had the chance to discover simple, authentic, and delicious local cuisine while enjoying a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You can immediately tell that Véronique knows Palmeira inside out and genuinely loves sharing it with others. She shares fascinating stories, takes the time to answer every question, and introduces you to places I would never have found on my own. I thought I was simply going to visit a village. Instead, I came away with a completely different perspective on Cape Verde. What made that day so special wasn’t just the village itself, but the people I met, the atmosphere, and all those little authentic moments.
