Things to do Santa Teresa & Selarón Stairway Bohemian Experience

A tram that defies time, early 20th-century architecture, handcrafted art, and a vibrant gastronomic scene await you in Santa Teresa. This charming neighborhood is home to museums, cultural centers, and a welcoming bohemian community. Our journey begins with a scenic tram ride into the heart of Santa Teresa. From there, we’ll walk approximately 3 to 4 km, exploring its main attractions before descending the iconic Selarón Stairway in Lapa, the third most visited site in Rio. Depending on the pace, we can continue to the historic Lapa Aqueduct and/or the nearest metro station in Cinelândia.

“Interesting, beautiful and very informative Tour”

It was a very private tour, as it was only another person and me - Hence it gave you more like the „a friend is showing me his favourite city“ vibes. Santa Teresa and the Selarón stairs were very charming and the stories behind the artwork and buildings provided by Eduardo were so interesting. I had a great time and I would recommend anyone doing a tour with him!

“Fantastic tour!”

Really nice tour, which starts with a tram ride and then walking around Santa Teresa. Ending up at Selaron Steps. Edouard is very knowledgeable and a great guide. It was a lot of fun to discover the Santa Teresa neighbourhood, which is very lively and full of great street art. I highly recommend this tour!

“For us - best walking tour guide ever!”

Eduardo's delivery is a perfect blend of interesting and informative. It is rare you find someone who seems so in tuned with their world and surroundings. He effortlessly guides and interacts with locals and tourists while pointing out key POIs and providing background stories that keep your attention. In our case, it was just for 2 of us so he offered to adjust the tour as needed. We originally thought 2 hours would be enough but the next thing we knew, 4 hours had passed and we could have just kept following him around. In addition, as great as the Selaron Steps are, with Eduardo, you will see the charms of Santa Teresa as a whole. Easy to recommend.

“Tour très intéressant et instructif”

En une après midi nous avons pu voir les quartier majeur du centre historique de Rio. Le guide est très sympa et nous a appris beaucoup de chose sur ce quartier. Excelente tour con Eduardo porque parte de la visita a Santa Teresa en tranvía. Con esto se logra facilidad y simpatía de movimiento. El aporte de Eduardo es fundamental porque conoce el barrio en sus mínimos detalles y no tiene inconveniente en detenerse en los aspectos artísticos del paseo. Por si fuera poco, nos acompaña, al final, en tomar un transporte de vuelta a nuestros hoteles.
