Favela Walking Tour

Mi familia y yo disfrutamos mucho del tour por la favela Rocinha. Nuestro guía, Patrick, fue muy atento y siempre nos explicó todo con detalle, lo que hizo que la experiencia fuera muy enriquecedora. El tour fue muy relajado y cómodo, permitiéndonos conocer la comunidad de manera auténtica y sin prisas. Sin duda, una experiencia muy recomendable.

Rocinha is well worth the visit, and our guide, Patrick, was excellent. Good clear communication with tour organizer. Transportation to and from Rocinha was provided via car. It was a small group on the day we went, and we walked around at a fair pace, with frequent stops for explanations from our guide, scenic viewpoints, and points of interest. The residents were all very kind and accommodating to us visitors, and I guess groups like us who politely intrude in their lives are somewhat normalized. I felt as safe with the guided walk as I would in downtown Rio on my own. Loved the capoeira demonstration. I will note that some of the walk required climbing steep stairs and uneven winding paths, though nothing too arduous. Thanks!

We booked the tour for Wednesday but asked if we could join last moment the Tuesday tour. He told us he could only tell us in the morning, if this is fine for us. So at 8am he informed us that two cancelled and we would be able to join, which we did. Our Guide Patrick was great, he told us a lot of stories and explained everything. We did enjoy the tour a lot, I can highly recommend it to everyone! :)

Estoy súper satisfecho de haber contratado este tour. El guía lo hizo súper bien y nos indicó en todo momento qué podíamos hacer y dejar de hacer dependiendo del lugar en el que nos encontráramos. Gracias a sus explicaciones pudimos ver cómo era el día a día de las personas que vivían ahí y entender el contexto que las rodea.
