Original Rijeka Free Tour
Join me on a walk through history, architecture, culture and present of a city that bears its name after a river. The city where a few generations of the same family lived in different states, while never leaving their home.
Things to do Original Rijeka Free Tour
The morning tour lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes, while the evening tour lasts 2 hours. We'll meet up at Jadranski trg (Adriatic Square) at the designated time (check the dates!) and, during our walk, you'll see some exciting and unique places within the city center, as well as hear stories about how Rijeka used to be the largest port in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and how the city has developed through the centuries. - We will end our free tour at the waterfront, where many luxury yachts are anchored today. This tour is provided in English only.

Our guide, Marco, gave us a wonderful tour of Rijeka. Not only did he show us the sites but gave us a good insight into the history of Croatia, Yugoslavia, and the Austrian-Hungary empire. He also gave us multiple recommendations for other places to visit and to eat. I highly recommend this tour!

Me and a friend booked a tour with him and he was very kind and interesting. He showed us the more famous things but also the hidden gems. It was very hot and he offered us a break to go buy some water and redfill it. Would definitely recommend him!

We started our vacation with the free tour through Rijeka. We were able to learn a lot, the tour guide was very sympathetic and gave us helpful tips on local places and beaches to visit during our stay. We would definetly recommend the tour if you are interested in the history of Croatia and Rijeka, but also the current state of the city. It is also helpful to get an overview over Rijeka.

“An unforgettable, personalized tour! Like discovering a city wit”
I cannot recommend this free walking tour enough! I was the only person who showed up, but Marko (my guide) didn't hesitate for a second and ran the tour just for me. Since we were about the same age, it felt incredibly friendly right from the start. We joked around a lot, making the whole experience feel like walking around town with a friend, yet I learned so much. Before coming to Rijeka, I had researched TripAdvisor, Wikipedia, and Reddit, but Marko still managed to surprise me with so many unique facts I hadn't read anywhere else. He is extremely empathetic and has a great sense of what people like. He instantly picked up on my interests and highlighted the perfect spots for food, architecture, vintage vibes, and art. It’s so clear that he genuinely loves what he does and is perfect for this "task".

I’m a bit of a historian. When I heard after two minutes that Rijeka was previously called Fiume I realised that we were in the cockpit of Central Europe of the 19th and 20th century our guide was excellent really informative and fun. Would highly recommend this tour. Sanjen has a lovely way with him and we spent a great two and a half hours in a lively city with a very rich history

Rijeka is such a beautiful city, and our guide gave some fun facts. He was nice but often needed questions to redirect his line of thinking or to introduce us with new facts. We also found if some crucial portions of rijekas history form the City Museum which was not mentioned.
Highly recommend the city museum!

I liked Rijeka from the very first moment, but it was just an emotion without any content behind. Learning about its complex and rich history of this town made things more tangible and understandable why it's such a likeable city.
Sanjin was a great tour guide, presenting the city with a lot of additional content. It's always nicer when these tours are done by people who truly love and live their job.
I would recommend to to everyone who has some hours/days in Rijeka to book a tour, as it gives a completely different view on the city.

Our guide was very enthusiastic about his hometown and its history. His narration was illustrative and full of knowledge, it was notable that he is a history teacher. He also recommended us things he personally likes to do in the city.
Keep in mind its gonna be hot in the summer but he did his best to keep us in the shadow and provide us with places to sit.
