Original Rijeka Free Tour
Join me on a walk through history, architecture, culture and present of a city that bears its name after a river. The city where a few generations of the same family lived in different states, while never leaving their home.
Things to do Original Rijeka Free Tour
The morning tour lasts for 2h15min, while the evening tour lasts for 1h45min. We'll meet up at Jadranski trg (Adriatic square) at the designated time (check the dates!) and, during our walk, you'll see some very interesting and unique places within the city center, as well as hear stories about how Rijeka used to be the largest port in Austro-Hungarian Empire, and how the city has developed through centuries. We'll end our walking tour at a wharf in the harbor, where many luxurious yachts are anchored nowadays. This tour is provided in English only.

“Better than expected!”
My first attempted tour was cancelled so I was grateful to go today. Rijeka didn’t have great reviews but I thought I should find out myself and was delighted to learn so much history, impressive buildings and inventions and community leaders from this fine city. “Unrevealing the complex beauty of Rijeka ”
I liked Rijeka from the very first moment, but it was just an emotion without any content behind. Learning about its complex and rich history of this town made things more tangible and understandable why it's such a likeable city.
Sanjin was a great tour guide, presenting the city with a lot of additional content. It's always nicer when these tours are done by people who truly love and live their job.
I would recommend to to everyone who has some hours/days in Rijeka to book a tour, as it gives a completely different view on the city.

Our guide was very enthusiastic about his hometown and its history. His narration was illustrative and full of knowledge, it was notable that he is a history teacher. He also recommended us things he personally likes to do in the city.
Keep in mind its gonna be hot in the summer but he did his best to keep us in the shadow and provide us with places to sit.

What I appreciate the most is that Sanjin does not waste time on silly trivia, there is no need for it as he knows of plentiful of interesting historical events important for getting to know the city of Rijeka. Loved his suggestions for food. I can strongly recommend anyone visiting Rijeka to join his tour; it's worth stopping in Rijeka just for that, you won't regret your time!

The guide took us to a wide variety of historically relevant locations telling us all about what happened in the past and how the citizens of Rijeka are now.

“Good historical knowledge”
In general it was a good tour with nice highlights of Rijeka. I wish we could have explored a little more about recent history of Istria, as well as the importance of post-WW2 political changes and legacies to the region. It would also be nice to learn a bit about the impacts of Croatia joining the EU.

“Changed my view on Rijeka”
I have organised a trip to Croatia, not having much background about it. We were based in Rijeka and hired a car to go to Istria, and Krk Island. I am glad that I have taken this tour as it made me understand alot of the buildings in the city, the history, the importance of it! This tour has increased my appreciation towards the city significantly and I wish there's this free service in every place I go as it has changed my experience!
