Discover the rich culture and history of Prizren as we explore its landmarks, including the renowned Albanian League of Prizren. Join us for a journey through the stories that define this vibrant city!
The tour begins at the Stone Bridge and the lively Shadervan Square, the heart of the city. Along the way, we will cross five bridges, each with its own history and story. We first stop at the Orthodox Cathedral of St. George. After that, we continue to the Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor, an important place of worship and one of the central Catholic landmarks in the city. Next, we visit the Sinan Pasha Mosque, a large Ottoman-era mosque in the old town. The tour then takes us to the Albanian League of Prizren, a key site in Albanian history and national awakening, followed by the story of Door No. 52 and the green surroundings of Marash Park. We also visit the Hammam of Gazi Mehmet Pasha and the Tekke of the Halvetis, both reflecting the cultural and spiritual life of Prizren under the Ottomans. Finally, at the Home School and Martyrs’ Square, we touch on Kosovo’s recent past — the parallel schools of the 1990s, the war of 1998–1999, and how the city remembers its martyrs.
