Things to do Piran Essentials Free Tour

Explore the enchanting seaside town of Piran on a walking tour that blends music, history, and unforgettable views. We begin at Tartini Square, where we immerse ourselves in the beautiful music and life story of Giuseppe Tartini, the town’s most famous composer. Nearby, we uncover the legend of the Venetian House, one of Piran’s most iconic buildings. As we wander through the old town, we learn about the long tradition of salt‑making in Slovenia, how it shaped local life for centuries, and how the salt pans operate today. We visit a functioning monastery and several historic churches, each holding its own stories. Climbing toward the old city walls, we reach a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the rooftops and the sea. From here, we admire the baptistery of St. John the Baptist, the bell tower, and the majestic Church of St. George. Descending to the waterfront, we visit the lighthouse and the Church of Our Lady of Health, then stroll along a coastline decorated with unique stone art. Finally, we dive into Piran’s charming narrow streets and end our walk at the medieval market square, the historic heart of the town.
