Join a tour of Otavalo and discover its rich traditions! Explore its markets and learn about the ancestral art of textile and handicraft making, passed down from generation to generation. A unique cultural experience awaits you!
Our tour begins in Quito and moves towards the city of Otavalo, where we will visit the Plaza de los Ponchos, a space of coexistence of the Otavalo culture. Since 1870 the inhabitants have preserved for hundreds of years their practices in the production of textiles and handicrafts, inherited from previous generations.
It is one of the largest open-air fairs in South America, concentrating thousands of artisans who mostly belong to the Kichwa ethnic group. Its greatest importance is on Saturdays due to the influx of local, regional, national, and international visitors who, in addition to purchasing products for sale, appreciate the indigenous dress of elegantly dressed women with embroidered blouses and anacos.
At the end of the fair, we will return to our point of origin, the city of Quito.
