Discover all about the Soviet military era on this walking tour which reveals the intriguing military history, as well as the real-life stories and the lasting legacies of that time.
Odesa is a city-hero. The defense of the city lasted 73 days in 1941. Military equipment, weapons, and soldiers were not enough for this city, but Odesa did not give up. This city managed to defeat the German-Romanian army! During this tour, we will walk along the historical complex, which includes an exhibition in the open air, representing military equipment from the times of the Great Patriotic War.
We will talk about weapons, military strategy, and techniques of that time, know about military legends, talk about history, see a submarine, homemade tanks, mines, guns, and much more. During this tour, we will do our best to show you historical and bold Odesa, the same Odesa that fell into despair but could win.

“Odesa weapons tour”
The Odesa weapons tour was one of the best ever! The guide was amazing and managed to interest both me (who loves the history of the wars) and my wife (who is not so interested).
A totally different view of both Odesa and the war!

“Soviet Weapon Park”
Great introductory to soviet history. This was Micheal’s first time acting as a guide for the weapon park tour. Nevertheless he was very professional and informative, particularly with how the various artillery would be used and how Odessa was defended and stories of when the Romanian Army occupied Odessa.

“411 Battery ”
Our third and final tour for the weekend after the catacombs and city tour. An interesting look at the remains of a range of Ukranian and other soviet weapons from WW2 and later. This is a shorter tour than the others (about an hour) and probably best for those with an interest in weaponary or WW2. The tour itself was interesting and the guide informative about how the different weapons were used and some of their history in defending Odesa. The park is some distance from city but we got there using an Uber without any problems.
