Tour of Maceió on Two Wheels

Starting at Corredor Vera Arruda, an urban space that has become a cultural and leisure landmark in Maceió, we begin our journey surrounded by art and history. At the beginning, we find sculptures that pay tribute to great names and symbols of Alagoas, such as Nise da Silveira, an icon of humanistic psychiatry, and Ledo Ivo, an immortal poet of Brazilian literature. Moving on, we come across the work O Beijo de Dona Irineia (The Kiss of Dona Irineia). The path takes us to Praça Ganga Zumba, a space that honours the struggle and resistance of Afro-Brazilian peoples. Continuing along the coast, we arrive at Cruz das Almas Beach, where the rough sea contrasts with the tranquillity of the monuments that adorn the public space. Further north, the route continues along Jacarecica Beach, with its natural beauty. Moving on, we cross mangrove areas, a vital ecosystem that makes up the coastal landscape and reinforces the connection between nature and culture. Finally, we reach the beginning of Guaxuma Beach, where the sea and vegetation meet in perfect harmony. This route combines activity, leisure and cultural immersion, revealing the artistic and natural wealth of Maceió.
