“Little why”
No history at all, a bit about what geishas learn and do. Lots of "this is this, that is that", but sadly no why this and that is.
The guide was super nice and euphoric.
The two temples we visited were also alot of what but no how and why.
Free Walking Tours are generally considered great because of their cultural insights and depths of knowledge. This wasn't the case on this tour.

“A very interesting tour with a great guide”
The tour was very good. Our guide (I don't think I got his name right, but it was something like "Gagi") was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English (he said he had lived two years in Vancouver). This was my third time in Kyoto, but I learned many new things. We both warmly recommend this tour.

Nice tour of the historic Gion district, including some of the geisha streets, with a friendly, english-speaking guide.
This is a fast paced tour that covers a lot of ground in 2 hours. Although the streets and attractions of Kyoto can be extremely busy and crowded, this tour follows a route that is not too terribly crowded for the most part.
When you are on the Geisha streets then, seriously, NO PHOTOS, regardless of what you see other inconsiderate people doing!

We have done many tours with this company through the years and we have never been disappointed. This tour was as delightful as expected. We walked at a good pace between sights and the guide gave us a few moments to take pictures where permitted. Our guide spoke loud enough for us to hear and gave great explanations. I especially liked touring the temple and the shrine to learn about the traditions. Thank you for the great tour.
