Things to do Walking Tour Around Kutna Hora

Join us for a captivating walking tour through the heart of Kutná Hora, a UNESCO World Heritage town renowned for its rich history, mystery, and stunning architecture. Our journey begins just outside the town center at the world-renowned Sedlec Ossuary, also known as the Bone Church. Beneath the humble Chapel of All Saints lies a chilling yet fascinating sight: over 40,000 human skeletons artistically arranged into chandeliers, altars, and coats of arms. As we descend into this macabre masterpiece, you’ll learn about the Black Death, the Hussite Wars, and the monks who gave new meaning to the phrase “ashes to ashes.” From Sedlec, we take a pleasant walk through the historic streets of Kutná Hora, passing charming Gothic and Baroque facades, quiet courtyards, and panoramic views. Along the way, I’ll share stories about the town’s golden age in the 14th and 15th centuries, when it thrived as the silver-mining powerhouse of the Bohemian Kingdom Our route then leads us to the crown jewel of Kutná Hora: the magnificent Cathedral of St. Barbara, a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture. Built by miners and dedicated to their patron saint, this cathedral took over 500 years to complete
