“I'm glad that I didn't go around by myself ”

I did my tour with Tatsuya about a week ago while I was solo traveling around Japan. I didn't know much about why and what happened during the time when Hiroshima was attacked with the atomic bomb, but he gave me a lot of info for me to understand as we walked around the memorials and museum. He also took me to eat Hiroshima style okonomiyaki prepared by a grandpa, it was delicious, I wish I could have eaten more hahah! Then we went to Miyajima island and finished the day going back to see the Hiroshima castle from a nice angle to take photos :)! It was pretty informative and I learnt a lot, highly recommend, don't forget to go eat okonomiyaki to feel better after visiting the museum! If i had some more time in Hiroshima i would have taken a tour to the rabbit island as well, but maybe next time!

“Brilliant day in Hiroshima”

Tatsuya was a brilliant guide, very informative and gave us a wonderful tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima. Introduced us to the culinery delights of fried oysters and Okonomiyaki, both were delicious. The museum was a stark reminder of the horror of nuclear war but the day was well balanced by the delights of Miyajima temples.

“Unforgettable experience!”

I took this tour on December 6th, and even though I was the only person who booked that day, it wasn’t cancelled. Instead, it felt like meeting up with a friend. Tatsuya had lots of patience with me and my family and wait for us in every moment. He bought the tickets for the peace history museum in advance so we didn’t have to wait the line. He explained us everything in the museum, it was overwhelming but we think it is a visit that everyone in the world must do. Then he made a reservation for lunch for all of us to one of the best places we ever been to. Later on we went to Miyajima and it was beautiful, he shared with us lots of details of the Japanese culture and answered all of our questions, we are very grateful with Tatsuya and we recommend this tour with him 100%. “Tatsuya was an excellent guide”

We had a wonderful day with Tatsuya. If you are lucky enough to get him as a guide, you will have the best day. He covered a lot of ground at a pace we were comfortable with. He suggested a very interesting "hole in the wall", ethnic eating place for lunch where we ate Okonomiyaki (Japanese cabbage pancakes) which were delicious. He was very accommodating and met us at our hotel which was around the block from the Peace Park and he accompanied us to the station after the tour so that we didn't waste time getting lost. “One of the best days during this Japan trip”

Tatsuya was our Hiroshima and Miyajima tour guide during our first time in Japan. He has been very kind and helpful since before the scheduled day and he also helped us purchasing tickets and similar. I strongly recommend the tour he is offering because, as a foreign person, I think the best decision is always to ask someone from the place to guide you and explained you the history of what you are visiting. For this specific tour is also more important. For us it has been just a day over there, but for Tatsuya, Hiroshima is his home town. He gave us a lot of information and explanations regarding Hiroshima, and not only info you could find on your own. Nothing less for the second part of the tour in Miyajima too. Tatsuya was an excellent guide. From initial booking he kept in touch. We were a family of four on the tour. He met us on time as agreed and organised the tour to suit us and the crowds. “The best guide”

We traveled to Miyajima and Hiroshima on Aug 6 2025, right on the 80-year anniversary of the bombing. Our guide, Tatsuya, was nothing short of exceptional. Not only did we get to experience the amazing scenery on the island along with a great view of the Tori gate, but we also went to a shrine and a temple. On our way back to the boat, we stopped to eat some incredible oysters from a place Tatsuya recommended. Before entering the Hiroshima memorial site, we stopped to eat some Okonomiyaki.. also delicious. During our entire trip, Tatsuya was very professional and knowledgeable. He gave us tons of information and trivia about everything we saw along the way and managed to answer every single one of our questions in great detail. Furthermore, he was very kind, respectful and finally, after spending the entire day with us, he accompanied us back to the Hiroshima station. We enjoyed this wonderful experience so much and we highly recommend Tatsuya for your next trip. He truly was one of the best guides we've ever had.

“Excellent tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima ”

Before booking a tour with Tatsuya I knew that there were three things our family of four wanted to experience: the Peace Park, Miyajima, and an Okonomiyaki lunch. Our tour included all of these, and Tatsuya made them all easier and much more enjoyable. He added context to the museum exhibits that we otherwise would have missed, helped me with stress-free transportation (including fixing a glitch with my Suica card), and taking us to an excellent lunch spot. He was extremely organized throughout the process, flexible with the plans, and a pleasant and enjoyable person to spend the day with.

“The best of the best!! ”

I’m a very well travelled individual , but I sought out a guide to Hiroshima /Miyajima because I wanted to get context and real stories about Hiroshima , and make it more meaningful . I didn’t want to join a group tour because my husband doesn’t like to be rushed . He likes to read everything and tends to be left behind . I needed someone who will keep us on track so we can see Miyajima , but also flexible . It was the best decision ! We had the most magical day . Tatsuya asked us if we wanted to change the day because it was going to rain on our original day . He was so thoughtful and knowledgeable with the history of Miyajima and Hiroshima . “A Perfect Day ”

Wow! Where to start? Tatsuya provided us with the most remarkable experience as we toured Hiroshima and Miyajima Island. His pre-tour communication provided us with the easiest of rendezvouses. His command of the English language was so good that there was never a moment when anything was lost in translation. He timed all the transfer links to perfection to ensure we saw everything we wanted to see at a leisurely pace whilst ensuring we returned to our cruise ship in a timely manner. Excellent guide very knowledgeable. Started the morning with a trip to Miyajima Island. Great to have a guide that not only knew the way but also the shortcuts and where all the lifts were. Then onto the Peace Park, memorial and the War Museum. Tatsuya made the walk through the museum that much more interesting as his knowledge of the photos and artefacts was excellent. Confronting and respectfully done, a must see to remind everyone of the destructiveness of nuclear weapons. “Walking tour of Hiroshima & Miyajima Island”

My wife and I enjoyed Tatsuya-san’s tour very much. He took very good care of us. Before the start of the tour, he asked a few questions about our means of transportation, preferences, etc, and he fine-tuned the itinerary, making the best use of our circumstances. Eg, we were travelling with the JR Sanin Pass and he used the best route to maximise the pass, the time of the tide for the best view of the Torii, the fastest route to board the ferry and exit the train stations. His explanation of the history of Miyajima and the events leading to and the aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing was very informative. I would recommend his tour.

Tatsuya was a great guide, Everything was very organised, depending on the high tide in order to see the Torii in the water. Lunch in a traditional place, and on request he found the best espresso coffe in Japan! The Hiroshima museum was packed but he helped us a lot pointing out the most interesting things. Highly recommended.

We booked our tour with Tatsuya several months before our arrival in Japan. From the beginning he was in full contact with us and kept us fully informed of his plans for our tour. He was punctual on the day if our tour and led us from location to location with confidence and all the while providing incredible details of what we were seeing. His knowledge of the area and managing crowds were second to none. We have taken many guided tours and this rates near or at the top. “Tatsuya. Our amazing Hiroshima guide”

Tatsuya was so amazing. I'm going to recommend him to all our friends in New York. He keeps in touch from the minute you arrive in Japan and then till u make it to Hiroshima. He's an educated young man who has seen and worked in so many different countries. It's an amazing experience spending time with him. He' has a great command of English. He also knows French and Spanish and has worked all over the world. He's punctual, helpful and courteous. He met us @ the Hiroshima Station and dropped us back on our platform after to go back to Kyoto. He had all the tickets etc all ready for our tour which lasted nearly 6 hours. He knew exactly where the entrances and exits were to avoid the many tourists that visit this place. He shared a local lemon sweet in a box with us which I thought was such a nice gesture; and as parting gift offered us the whole box. I would highly recommend him. A great find that we hope to share. with our friends. We wish him all the best always

“Fantastic day out”

The best day we’ve had in our 3week stay in Japan! We had been anticipating our visit to Hiroshima and today we were not disappointed. We were very fortunate to have had Tatsuya as our guide. He was so knowledgeable, informative, organised, considerate of our wishes and a thorough gentleman. As far as guides go on our numerous travels around the world in our retirement, he will go down as one of, if not the best guide we have had. He rearranged the daily schedule to avoid the crowds on Miyajima so we went there first, and spent a few hours on the beautiful island. He knew the best place for Okonomiyaki lunch away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets of Miyajimacuchi. We then visited the Atomic bomb precinct - the Genbaku A-Bomb dome, the Peace Memorial park and the Memorial museum in the afternoon. We are really glad that we chose to go with Freetour and would unreservedly recommend them.

The pictures that you will see at the last stop are so disturbing. “Awesome and very informative tour of Hiroshima”

Tatsuya is an incredibly wonderful guide. He is so knowledgeable about Hiroshima and i like that he linked his families stories about what occurred during the war. He made the day so incredibly easy for us by picking us up from our hotel. The tour was so organized and having Tatsuya's insight while touring the museum made the experience so much more meaningful though incredibly sad and emotional. Tatsuya picked a wonderful spot right by the ferry with nice views to try Okonomiyaki and guided us through the ordering process. We enjoyed the time on Miyakama Island and the explanations of the founding of the temple. and of course the deer were pretty cute. We really appreciated the fact that when we returned he assisted us with purchasing our tickets for Kyoto and gave us helpful advice on where to get the types of souvenirs I wanted to get for my family. At the end he even presented us with gifts which we really appreciated. I would definitely recommend this trip when you are in Hiroshima and Tatsuya as a truly gifted tour guide.

“Tatsuya was full of knowledge and enthusiasm”

The tour was tiring, however we were given great insights into the Atomic Bomb event and the human stories that surrounded it. Getting around was also made easy since Tatsuya knew the relevant buses and trains to catch. We had a great lunch of Okonomyaki, one of our tour "must dos", and then an informative tour of Mijyama island. As we walked from place to place, we were able to have great conversations, which all added up to a great tour. As another matter, he suggested that we start a bit earlier to avoid the crowds. This was very effective, as we saw a lot of crowds just starting on the things we had finished.

Tatsuya wasn't just a tour guide, it was like hanging around with a friend how is telling the history of the city. “Must-Do Tour ”

It is difficult to put into words how incredible of a tour this is, largely due to the guide, Tats. Echoing many of the other reviews -- by the end of the tour (or even just midway through) Tats felt like a friend we hadn't seen in awhile, rather than a tour guide we had met just hours ago. He spent the entire day with us, was flexible on timing and content to meet our desires and timing constraints, and provided invaluable insights all the while. Everyone in our group hopes to see Tats again one way or another. Most of my group figured that they would do the first half of the tour but be "toured" out by the time we got to Miyajima, and I was going to do the second half on my own. However, by the time we got to Miyajima everyone was excited to keep hanging out with Tats.
