Welcome to a journey into the "Lost City" of Bengal! Just a short drive from Dhaka, Panam Nagar is a hidden treasure for history lovers and photographers. Built in the 19th century by wealthy merchants, this abandoned town features more than 50 stunning mansions. Walking through its silent, narrow streets feels like a trip back in time.
What we will do:
First, we will explore beautiful Panam Nagar. I will share stories of the merchants who lived here and explain the unique mix of Mughal and European architecture. Next, we will visit the Sonargaon Folk Arts and Crafts Museum, located in a magnificent royal palace. You will see traditional Bengali art, jewelry, and the famous Muslin cloth.
