So if you want to explore more, we will hop into a traditional pirogue and enjoy a boat ride on the lake (extra cost). If needed, we'll take a break at one of the restaurants near the lake,to taste the famous "MUKEKE" fish. The 2nd stop: THE LIVING MUSEUM OF BUJUMBURA. This is a hidden gem, a living museum of Bujumbura; a unique place showcasing Burundi's heritage. Explore traditional huts, witness local artisans at work, and hear the sounds of rural Burundi. Immerse yourself in the country's history, music, and dance. The 3rd STOP: BURUNDIAN ARTISAN MARKET called locally KU MASHURWE. A traditional market where Burundian handcrafters are known for creating beautiful and unique items that reflect the country's heritage such as woven gift baskets"agaseke", drum decor, animal figurines, etc. The 4th STOP: BATWA COMMUNITY (PYGYM) IN BUTERERE AREA. This community is one of Africa's oldest indigenous groups, known as a Pygmy community, where we will be learning their unique way of life and traditions.
