Things to do Hidden Bucharest: Markets, Neighborhoods & Flavors

Explore Bucharest from a local’s perspective. This tour offers a unique glimpse into how people live and have lived in the city’s historic neighborhoods. Along the way, we’ll dive into the city’s architecture, as well as stories from its history and popular culture. The highlight, of course, will be the food and drinks experience. We’ll travel by public transport to a sprawling 300-year-old market, where we’ll stop at various stalls to sample local, seasonal produce, as well as specialties like Romanian micii (grilled sausages) in the most iconic spot to try them, and gogoașă (local donuts) from one of the many pastry stands. From fresh fruits and vegetables to cheeses, meats, sweets, spreads, local beers, and traditional shots, there’s something for everyone. This market is open every day and offers an authentic, timeless experience that’s a must-see when in Bucharest. It’s truly a place that feels stuck in time, allowing you to step into the city’s past while savoring its flavors.
