We really enjoyed our guide, Stephan. He is a lively story teller, with humor and energy, and he shared interesting bits of the local history. He was also very open to additional questions. Only suggestion : when possible, talk in front of sitting areas. Because the tour involves standing a lot, much more than walking, and that's hard on the feet.

“The capitalist perspective”
History is about humans, and not two-dimensional movie characters, as it was portrayed in this tour. I hoped to learn more about life in socialist Romania, the good and the bad. Sadly, the tour guide only managed to tell about the latter, sometimes greatly exaggerating historical facts. For example, she mentioned a number of 800.000 people killee by the regime, while serious sources estimate this number to be at least ten times less. She mentioned collectivization only in a bad light, failing to notice how agricultural reform was hardly needed in a country where food access used to be limited. While she definetely was a nice person and organized the tour well, the contents of the tour were on the level of a fifth grade western European history class, only showing the pro western, capitalist perspective. No mention on the progress in industrialization, womens rights, ecology, healthcare... Overall, a dissapointment.

“What an excellent informative tour”
my wife and I had the pleasure of taking this tour with Tamara on Monday afternoon. She provided an excellent perspective of the royalty and then the communist years however she did not dwell heavily on the communist years which was great. We got a really good history about Romania during the 20th century.
For the wealth of knowledge that tomorrow provided to us, it was hard to believe that she was only in her second week of giving tours. Please make sure you keep her on your tour agenda because she was terrific.

We only had a day in Bucharest and this tour was an excellent introduction and overview of the recent 150 years. It married in the historic buildings, statues and parks with the political and social history - putting them in context. Would recommend to others who are novices on Bucharest and Romania - and only have a short visiting time. The tour has inspired me to learn more about Romania.

We had Bianca as our tour guide who was very knowledgeable, lovely, funny and very willing to answer our questions and offer her family's own personal experience. The tour offers an interesting insight into the history of Bucharest from the Monarchy through to Communism. It's the perfect amount of detail for a walking tour and if you are interested in learning more, there are museums that can be visited. It's also a good way to get a feel for the city and where everything is.

I can highly recommend this tour. Laura our tour guide was brilliant. She was very friendly, well organised , knowledgeable and very interesting. The tour took us around the city with stops at many places of relevance to the political history over the past. Not only was our tour guide very informative she talked of her own families experiences of communism. As well as the trip Laura suggested places to see and do, food and drink to try and how to use the transport networks. I was quite exhausted with the extensive history lesson. We spent a lot of time discussing historical details and hardly did any walking. It felt more like a stationary history tour. I was hoping for more walking while learning about the buildings. It felt more like a history lecture.
