This route is usually divided into 4 stages starting from the oldest resort in Bulgaria - Borovets: Stage 1: climbing by lift from Borovets to Yastrebets hut; Stage 2: Pedestrian crossing from Yastrebets to Musala hut; Stage 3: Walking from Musala hut to Lake Ledeno; Stage 4: climb from the Ice Lake shelter to the top.
