Market square

Old Town Hall Tower

This tower is the only part of the Old Town Hall that remains 70 meters high. It has a Gothic style characterized by the use of brick and built in the 14th century; an old prison was located in its cellars. You can visit the top floor of this tower where you will find incredible views of the city, its hours are from March 5 to the end of October, every day from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and, in November and December, every day from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the price is 9 PLN but on Mondays admission is free.


Saint Florian Gate

This gate was built in the 13th century, it was one of the main entrances to the old city of Krakow, which was surrounded by walls. Thus, it is very close to the previously mentioned Market Square and, together with the Barbican, began the Royal Road of Krakow that reached the Wawel Castle.

The Jews lived in it until it was remodeled with Schindler's list during World War II. They were transferred to the Jewish ghetto before being transferred to the concentration camps near this city, such as Auschwitz. It is also called the Podgórze neighborhood.

El Águila Pharmacy

It is the only pharmacy that existed in the Jewish ghetto that also served as a meeting point for the Jews where they carried out the anti-Nazi conspiracy and helped each other. It was established by Tadeusz Pankiewicz although it was later nationalized. At present it is a museum in which, on occasion, classes are given to high school students where they learn everything about the concentration camp and Polish and Jewish culture. Its hours are Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Tuesday to Sunday: from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed on the second Tuesday of the month). Thus, the price is 10 PNL for adults and 8 PNL for students, however on Monday admission is free.

Cathedral of Saint Francis of Assisi

It is located in the historic center of Krakow, built in the 13th century, it is the first to be built in brick. It is Catholic and Gothic in style, and was declared a minor basilica by Pope Benedict XV. It has been remodeled several times since it has suffered many fires, although the polychrome colors on the walls and stained glass windows stand out.
