When does the Malaga Fair start?
The Malaga Fair is held every August. This year, 2023, the festival takes place from Saturday the 12th to Sunday the 20th of August, coinciding with the long weekend on the 15th of August. In the enclosure you will find more than 170 booths belonging to social organizations, clubs, brotherhoods and companies, although, unlike the Seville Fair, access to most of them is free.
The first day starts with the proclamation made by a prominent Malaga and then, at 00:00 the party opens with fireworks. We recommend you to see the fireworks from the Puerto de Málaga, the La Malagueta beach, the Monte de San Antón or the Playa de la Mercy. You certainly have a wide range to choose from.
The drone show is done in parallel both on the beach of la misericordia/huelin and simultaneously in the port.
Where is the Malaga Fair
The Malaga Fair has its own singularity and that is that this festival is divided into two parts: one of them in the historic center and the other in the Cortijo de Torres, very close to the Palace of Fairs and Congresses, also known as el Real.
In the first area of the fair, the so-called “Daytime Fair”, is where some of the more than 170 booths that are spread throughout the venue are concentrated and most of the establishments in the center are open to give shelter to the fair atmosphere. In fact, even the discos or pubs open their doors during the holidays as well.
On the other hand, in the Cortijo de Torres is where most of the booths are located, the attractions for all audiences and stalls selling jewelry, clothing, accessories, etc. This area is known as the “Night Fair” although festive activity is maintained throughout the day at the fairgrounds.
