Things to do Ghosts of Austin: Self-Guided Exploration Game

This is a self-guided exploration game crafted by a passionate local storyteller and played outdoors, on the spooky streets of Austin. You will eerie landmarks and shadowy corners across 11 iconic locations while following a haunting mystery filled and searching for ghosts. At each location, you'll be solving a real-world puzzle by looking for clues on various elements such as monuments, graffiti, and facades. The game is mainly focused around the Downtown area and includes many chilling ghost stories, mysteries and even a trail linking to America’s first serial killer. Starting from the Capitol Building, the stops are spaced an average of around 250m apart, with each location taking around 5 min to complete. The route also passes through The Texas Governor’s Mansion, Eula Phillips Murder Site, and Millett Opera House. At every stop, the app unlocks a new chapter and guides people to the next location. DISCLAIMER: You will explore by yourself using the Questo app on your phone. No physical guide or strangers will be involved. The full route covers approximately 3 km and takes around 1.5h to complete. You can play it any day, at any time, in both English and Spanish languages.
