River Arts District Free Walking Tour

The River Arts District or "RAD," has been a popular spot for visitors; however, many guests ask the question: "What do we do once we arrive?" This tour answers that question! We hit the highlights and provide a hands-on, unforgettable RAD experience

Things to do River Arts District Free Walking Tour

We will start at the Magnetic Theatre! Next, we will walk down Depot Street to learn about the history of the RAD, the artists, and their galleries. We will stop at the Grind Coffee for a taste of local brews followed by a private tour of the historical Grey Eagle Music Venue! We will view glass blowing demonstrations at the NC Glasswork Center, then walk alongside the river, learning stories about the legends of the French Broad as well as a list of activities you can do on the river post-tour! We will finish on Foundy Street to learn all about the graffiti that covers the walls and the creative local businesses. Throughout the tour, I will be providing insider tips on the best places to eat, drink and play for the best prices, including the places where locals hang out for free! We will end the tour outside of Pleb Urban Winery where guests will have the option to go to Pleb for a glass of wine or the Wedge Brewery for a beer with specials offered only to our tour guests!
