Travel from Arica to the Chilean Altiplano on a full-day tour through Lauca National Park, one of the most spectacular protected areas in northern Chile.
We’ll gradually ascend from the desert toward the Andes, stopping at scenic overlooks and high-altitude landscapes. Along the route, discover the Taapaca Volcano viewpoint, Las Cuevas, the Mirador de los Vientos, and the small Andean settlement of Chucuyo.
Inside Lauca National Park, visit the historic town of Parinacota and its traditional Andean church, surrounded by wetlands where vicuñas, alpacas, and native birds can often be spotted.
We’ll continue on to the beautiful Cotacotani lagoons before reaching Lake Chungará, situated at over 4,500 meters above sea level and framed by the impressive Payachata volcanoes.
This experience combines spectacular scenery, wildlife, Andean culture, and one of Chile’s most iconic high-mountain landscapes, before returning to Arica in the afternoon.
