Surrounded by stunning Muslim architecture, you’ll visit the historic Qasr El Ryas Museum. 3. Next, enjoy a traditional lunch of BBQ seafood, spicy local dishes, or Karantita for vegetarians by the sea. 4. Take a walk along the waterfront with views of Algiers Bay and the iconic Said Port Square. 5. Stroll down Emir Abdelkader Street to the Grand Post Office, with optional stops at shops selling handmade jewelry and traditional crafts. 6. Ride the cable car to explore Algeria’s inspiring liberation history at the Martyr Monument and the Revolution Museum. 7. End the day with a peaceful visit to the Algiers Botanical Garden. Friday Note: Friday is a weekend day in Algeria. Some shops may close during Friday prayers (about two hours), but museums remain open.
