Join us for an unforgettable tour of Addis Ababa! Discover breathtaking views from Mount Entoto, explore the vibrant Merkato, and see the fossil Lucy at the National Museum. Enjoy a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony to wrap up your adventure!
Start your exploration of Addis Ababa with a visit to Mount Entoto, standing 3,200 meters above sea level. The mountain offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city. This site was the former capital of Ethiopia before Emperor Menelik II relocated the capital to Addis Ababa. After taking in the views and learning about the historical significance, we will descend into the city center.
Next, visit the St. George Cathedral, an important religious site where the last Ethiopian coronation took place. Afterward, we'll head to Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa, where you can witness the vibrant hustle and bustle of daily commerce and local trade.
Following the market visit, enjoy a local lunch. Afterward, we’ll proceed to the National Museum of Ethiopia, one of the most significant museums in Sub-Saharan Africa. Here, you can marvel at the 3.2 million-year-old fossil of Lucy, our ancient ancestor, and explore a collection of artifacts that includes royal insignia, traditional costumes, weapons, and sculptures from the time of the Queen of Sheba, with some originating from Aksum and Eritrea.
