Things to do Addis Ababa Free Walking Tour

Embark on a unique walking tour through Addis Ababa, where history, culture, and modern life blend seamlessly. Starting from Unity Park near the Ethiopian Science Museum, we’ll pass by the historic Imperial Palace and take in Ethiopia’s rich heritage from the outside. Next, we’ll stroll through the lively university district, soaking in the energy of bustling markets, vibrant street life, and the aroma of delicious local food. In Piazza, Addis Ababa’s old town, we’ll admire historic architecture influenced by Italian, Armenian, and Greek cultures, stop at Ethiopia’s first hotel for a glimpse of the past, and capture the charm of this storied district. For stunning city views, we’ll pause at Friendship Park, a peaceful retreat with beautifully landscaped gardens and a breathtaking skyline backdrop. And, of course, no tour is complete without coffee—we’ll take a break at a renowned café to enjoy Ethiopia’s world-famous brew, prepared in the traditional way. This is a fully immersive walking experience—we won’t be entering any sites, just stopping to admire, take photos, and soak in the city’s atmosphere.
