Things to do Giant's Causeway and Belfast Tour from Dublin

With our Giant's Causeway and Belfast Tour from Dublin we depart Dublin before the city wake up and start this wonderful day to Northern Ireland. On route we will pass by some Iconic Irish landmarks like the Mary McAleese Boyne Valley Bridge and the Hunger Strike Memorial. Your guide will have loads of information with regards to these landmarks and others to wet your appetite for the rest of the day.

Where time allows you will have a quick photo stop opportunity at Dunluce Castle. The craggy castle ruins is edged on a cliff and rumour has it the wife of the house decided to abandon the castle after her kitchen disappeared into the ocean below. The ruins of the 16th-century castle served as the House of Greyjoy in the "Game of Thrones" series so definitely worth a stop.

Our first major stop of the day is at The Giant’s Causeway, renowned for its polygonal columns of layered basalt, is the only World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland. Legend has it that Northern Ireland was once home to a giant named Finn McCool. When another giant in Scotland threatened Ireland, Finn retaliated by tearing up great chunks of the Antrim coastline ….for the rest of the story you will have to experience the tour yourself!

Scientist say the Giant’s Causeway was formed over 60 million years ago following a period of volcanic activity, where the lava cooled and formed these incredible interlocking basalt columns. The Causeway harbours a wealth of local and natural history. Other noteworthy items include: a Spanish Armada shipwreck site (‘La Girona’) & many traces of the legendary giant Finn McCools.

After 2 hr visit to the Causeway we will make our way to The Dark Hedges. One of the most photographed sites in Northern Ireland  and made even more famous after featuring as The Kings Road in the Game of Thrones series , this lane of Beech Trees is truly a site to visit. Don't miss the Game of Thrones themed door at Grace House , carved from fallen trees during recent storms. And keep a look out for the Lady wondering through the trees. After the Dark Hedges we will make our way through the Glens of Antrim on route to Belfast.

Once in Belfast you will have free time to experience one of Europe's fastest developing cities. With a history like no other Belfast City goes from being the birthplace of the Titanic to being one of the worlds most dangerous places during the troubles. Today it is a peaceful city with a rich history and a real European feel to it. Enjoy some shopping or just have a few pints of the "Black stuff".

Once finished in Belfast we will start our journey back to Dublin and you should be back just before the Dublin night live start.

All our tours come with a dedicated driver and guide unlike our competitors. Listen to authentic stories and discover Ireland's ancient history as we take you on this wonderful trip. Be overwhelmed by what Northern Ireland have on offers.
