The Terezin Concentration Camp has been witness of the tragedy caused by the Nazi occupation and the brutal methods they used to achieve their aims.

The Terezin Concentration Camp Tour hides one of the cruellest histories in the Czech Republic. In 1938 it was a Czech refugee camp and it became a concentration camp from 1941 to 1945, under the command of Reinhard Heydrich, popularity known as “the hangman”, who transformed the baroque fortress into a deportation place to send the trains to Auschwitz.

This journey is divided into two stretches: first, we will stroll through the National Cemetery to go inside and reflect about how the prisoners’ life was. Some of the main places to visit are the registration office, the logistic warehouses, the cells, the wall of executions, the cemeteries and the morgue.

Secondly, we will come across the Small Fortress that boasts the Gestapo Prison, where the greater repression in Czech Republic during the Second World War took place; all of these places compose the scene of terror where you will definitely relive what happened there.

This Terezin concentration camp is extremely important. The Nazis filmed some movies in this place to show everyone that people was happy and enjoyed a healthy life there, to deny the rumours about the political and racial persecution.
