Join local history enthusiasts and community leaders for a debut walking tour exploring the unknown and lost history of Frederick Douglass in Baltimore City over the course of more than half a century.
The tour will meet at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park, located on historic Thames Street, and conclude at Greedy Reads, situated on historic Aliceanna Street in Fell's Point. John Muller, author of Frederick Douglass in Washington, D.C.: The Lion of Anacostia and Mark Twain in Washington, D.C.: The Adventures of a Capital Correspondent, will lead a new walking tour "The Lost History of Frederick (Bailey) Douglass in Baltimore" using newly discovered information found in the Baltimore City Archives, Maryland Historical Society, Enoch Pratt Free Library, and private archives.
Muller has presented widely throughout the DC-Baltimore metropolitan area at venues including the Enoch Pratt Free Library, the Library of Congress, the DC Public Library, the Newseum, Politics and Prose, the American Library in Paris, and local universities.
